How we got started
Where-U-Climb climbing reviews was born out of two things, a love for rock climbing and a frustration with going to work everyday. I had always enjoyed my job, working with computers, but got frustrated with the corporate politics that is a constant part of being in the workforce. My wife and I had been rock climbing for about 3 years and loved everything about it. Finally I said "What the heck, I'm going to give it a shot." and here we are to share our love of rock climbing with you.
Meet us
We avoid listing our names, ages, or any pictures of ourselves because when we go to do a review we want it to be completely anonymous. That way a gym or climbing area will treat us just like any other random customer off of the street and we can give you an unbiased review of how you can expect to be treated when you walk in. We have 3 of us that are regular climbers and reviewers and travel both solo and as a group to various gyms and areas for reviews. We also do have a few others that do occasionally review for us as well on a limited basis.
Owners - Climber 1 and Climber 2 started climbing in March of 2003. Climber 2 wanted to go climbing for her birthday and away we went to the rock gym with no idea what to expect. We immediately fell in love with it, and went to a local retailer that night after leaving the gym to buy our own gear. Other than a brief stint away from climbing early on due to overwhelming work issues we have been climbing at least 3 days every week ever since.
Team Member - Climber 3 is a team member that climbs with climber 1 and climber 2. Climber 3 started climbing with us in late 2003/early 2004 and even with a fear of heights quickly progressed to leading 5.10 routes.
